: any of several pasteurelloses of domestic animals (as swine plague, shipping fever of cattle and lambs, and fowl cholera) that are caused by a bacterium of the genus Pasteurella (P. multocida) and are typically marked by internal hemorrhages, fever, mucopurulent discharges, and often pneumonia and diarrhea
